[Application Checklist] [Online Application]
Applicants for admission to the online MBA must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university
- Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience
- Successfully complete all prerequisite courses (listed below) with a letter grade of “C” or above. Courses must have been completed within the last five years from an accredited school or university.
- Microeconomics
- Macroeconomics
- Financial Accounting
- Statistics
- Successfully complete the GMAT exam. The following formula is used when considering applicants for admission: (weighted GPA x 200) + GMAT = 1025 or above.
Applicants whose native language is not English and who did not receive an undergraduate degree from an accredited American college or university are required to score 213 or higher on the computerized Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 80 on the Internet Based Test.
To apply to the online MBA you must complete an application for admission and send a $20 nonrefundable application fee to the College of Management Graduate Program Office. The following documentation must also be submitted:
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and previous graduate institutions
- Two references, one of which must be a professional reference. References must complete the reference form and attach a business card. An attached letter attesting to the importance of a MBA degree in enhancing your professional development and commenting on your ability to pursue and successfully complete a graduate program is encouraged. Faxed, electronic and photocopied references are not accepted.
- Goals statement . The goals statement should be approximately two typed pages, double spaced, expanding on “Why the Master’s Degree Would Help Me Achieve My Professional Goals” with specific reference to significant achievements, planned career and community activities, and what you can contribute to the program.
- Current resume of work experience (at least two years full-time professional work experience required)
- Official GMAT Score. The following formula is used when considering applicants for admission: (undergraduate weighted GPA x 200) + GMAT = 1025 or above. If you qualify for admission using this formula but your score is below the 30th percentile in any of the three areas of the GMAT, you may be required to complete preparatory courses as a condition of your admission.
Your application for admission is not considered until all requirements are met and fees are received. Materials submitted to the College of Management Graduate Program Office become the property of Metropolitan State University and are not returned. Allow 7 – 10 business days for review.
