Online MBA Program

Phases of Online MBA

The 40 credits for the online MBA program are divided into three phases.

  • Phase I (28 credits) includes the functional disciplines of business and organizations.  These courses provide a solid grounding in the core theories, processes and skills needed by managers in today’s rapidly changing environment.  Phase I courses include:
    • MGMT 600—Practical Research Methods for Managers (2 credits)
    • ECON 696—Managerial Economics and Strategy (2 credits)
    • MGMT 620—Organizational Behavior
    • ACCT 620—Management Accounting
    • MKTG 600—Marketing Management
    • MIS 600—Management Information Systems
    • DSCI 681—Operations Management for Services & Manufacturing
    • FIN 601—Financial Management

    all courses are four graduate credits unless indicated otherwise.

  • Phase II (8 credits) consists of two four-credit electives selected by the cohort to match your special interests and needs.  All students in the cohort will take the same two electives.  Electives can be chosen from a number of disciplines, including:
    • Management Information Systems
    • Project Management
    • Management
    • Finance
    • Marketing
    • International Business
  • Phase III is the synthesis and capstone phase of the program. You will take MGMT 699--Management Strategy and Policy, in which you will integrate what you have learned in the program (and life experiences) to form a coherent picture of management and organizations.
